The Ashton brand was founded in 1985 by Robert Levin in Philadelphia. Its legendary status was cemented in 1988 through a historic alliance with the Arturo Fuente family. This collaboration moved manufacturing to the world-renowned Tabacalera A. Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic, combining Levin’s consumer insights with the Fuentes’ multi-generational tobacco mastery to create a global icon.
The Ashton Classic Magnum is a 5 x 50 Robusto featuring a golden-blonde US Connecticut Shade wrapper and 4-year-aged Dominican long-fillers. The cold draw delivers hints of fresh hay, cedar, and graham cracker. Upon lighting, the first third opens with sweet cream, toasted almonds, and faint white pepper. The second third drops the pepper for sweet espresso, warm cinnamon, and a woody baseline. The final third culminates with roasted cashews, subtle caramel undertones, and a gentle earthy finish.
