A cigar brand punch was founded by German businessman Stockmann in 1840. It was named after a puppet character Mr.Punch. Company started making cigars out of Cuba and targetted specifically British market. Eventually it moved to Honduras and maing cuban seed honduran cigars. Moreover, they used Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco to make blend cigars.
Gran Puro Santa Rita was introduced in 2003 by General Cigars company. As its name suggests, it is a Honduran puro means binder, filler and wrapper, all benogs to Honduran tobacco. This cigar looks short and stubby with nice built. Wrapper is dark brown color with prominient veins.
The cigar starts with Peppery and earthy notes, which remains throught the first third. Second third is bit mild than first third with strong earthy notes with hint of cinnamon and cocoa. Final third has balanced notes of pepper, leather, cocoa, spice with full body finish.
Overall, cigar is much more inclined towards old school smokers who likes strong flavour of tobacco rather than other strong fruity or creamy notes. It is medium to full bodied cigar which is good option for an afternoon smoke.
